Player Evaluation
Minimize
Player evaluations are one of the most important aspects to making sure the players are matched with peers of the same skills and abilities. By matching the players skills and other attributes we create the optimun opportunity for the kids to progress and grow with their soccer skills.

Evaluations consider the following criteria;
Favorite or preferred postion, offensive abilities, defensive abilities, attitude, and keeper abilities
U10 Tryouts
Minimize

While, technically speaking, Under 10 soccer is classified as "non-results" orientated, it still remains "competitive" in the league in which we play.

The Nashoba Valley Youth Soccer League asks local clubs to tier their Under 10 teams according to skill level, so that the League may do its best to match teams of equal strength. While this is not always possible, the result is generally better than simply throwing all the teams into one division and letting them go at it.

WYSA is also interested in providing the best possible experience for all our players and we feel that is best accomplished by grouping players together based upon their age and their abilities.

At the end of the Spring season WYSA will host tryouts for the U10 boys and girls players to establish their various skills and abilites to form the teams for the Fall season.
Team Formation
Minimize
WYSA BU10 2009Team formation is the most challenging and sensitive task that WYSA, coaches, parents and players go through during a season. Once the player evaluations forms are submitted, they are matched up with the tryout results. Than using a ranking methodology the age director of the age group will sort the players with the results of the tryouts and the coach evaluation forms.

After this process, the coaches, the age director, board members and sometime previous coaches meet to formulate the teams based on; the number of kids in the program, abilities and skills, NVYSL rules and guidelines, and other considerations to form the teams.
Team Placement & League Info
Minimize
Westborough Youth Soccer Association is a member of the NVYSL, which is home to 26 different towns. Prior to each season, our representative takes our team formations and requests the appropriate placement within the league. The goal of this process is to make sure all the players are competing at a high level, ultimately challenging their skills and abilites each week.
